I'm a co-founder at Square (now Block) as an engineer and as a technical leader, started several companies as both CTO and CEO, and invest in startups, both personally and as a General Partner at Green Visor Capital. The process works as follows:
- Free consultation for up to 2 hours — This is to establish if we are the right fit for each other
- If we are a good fit, we will sign a simple engagement contract
- Subsequent work is charged at a rate of $1000/hr up front
- Compensation
- I accept equity grants as a form of payment. The grant's value will reflect my hourly rate at the current FMV of the equity.
- Travel
- If travel is required, it will be up to you to arrange. Flights that are longer than 3 hours must be in at least business class.
- Contract Terminations
- Our contract can be terminated at any point.
- Refunds
- I am always happy to refund if my work is unsatisfactory, after we discuss. I have a reputation to protect, and am not interested in ruining it for a few thousand dollars.
